end of the year thing

Year in Review Pt. 1

1.What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
Let's see... I really got into the swing of paper journaling, which I've never had much luck with prior to like, 2013. Also I got out of an abusive relationship by actually doing the smart thing and accepting people's help to get me out.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Amazingly, I did. I dropped thirty pounds (and kept it off) by changing how I eat, and I completed NaNoWriMo again. I always make resolutions, and I have some picked out already, namely to read more.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not that I can remember, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
I didn't visit anywhere exotic, unfortunately.

6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
Money would be nice. Someone who doesn't treat me like ass is another (I think I already accomplished that). Making more progress on recovery is always nice too.

7. What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
14 November. That's when I burned bridges between me and my ex-girlfriend.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
OUTSIDE OF THAT? Completing NaNo again, and getting a second job in an industry I enjoy.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Probably not getting out of that shitty relationship situation sooner, because I've noticed the writing on the wall for longer than that. (Being emotionally manipulated makes you think you can erase the writing on the wall, though.)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I got sick with a cold or whatever a couple of times (which is less than usual) and I've had a couple of migraines, but outside of that I've been okay.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
This year? Hmm. Prooooobably my sexy Gundam Wing box sets. I will not disclose how much I paid for all three of them, but it was a lot. People called me crazy. My craziness knows no bounds.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
People sure as hell celebrated me this year.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
This will surprise no one likely, but my ex's behaviour sure as hell appalled and depressed me to the point where I had several relapses.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills. Yep.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
MY GUNDAM WING BOX SETS and also TalesFes 2014 and just gunpla and and and...

16. What song will always remind you of 2014?
I listen to so much music in a year I couldn't tell you, really, what one will remind me of any given year.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder?
ii. thinner or fatter?
iii. richer or poorer?
Happier, thinner, probably poorer money-wise but richer in things like friendship and happiness, which are more important to me than how much money there is.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing. I did more writing than reading though, which isn't saying much.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Waste my time on a relationship built on a crumbling foundation.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Well more like how did I spend Christmas. I spent it with my boyfriend Jordan. It was quiet and nice.

>Part Two:

21. What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2014?
God I do so much embarrassing shit and you want me to relive it? No thanks.

22. Did you fall in love in 2014?
Yes, I did. At the end of November pretty much.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
I don't watch much TV but I did watch a hell of a lot of Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman because my love of science knows no boundaries.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
In a word, yes.

26. What was the best book you read?
Best book I read this year huh... Probably Dream Lake or How Not to Write a Novel (wherein one of the samples sounded like something Tuxedo Mark would write). I unfortunately didn't read much this year.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I discovered nightcore, which I don't know why I even like it so much since it's just music that's been sped up and pitched. But it's addicting.

28. What did you want and get?
Like...gift wise? I got what I wanted. It was mostly books. I also got an oracle deck, and I got the Angel Sanctuary art book I've been coveting for four years.

29. What did you want and not get?
More money, a life.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
God did I even watch anything from this year? I don't even know what came out this year. Did Les Miserables' movie come out this year? Regardless that was my favourite.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
22. I didn't do much, I'll tell you that.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less drama.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?
My fashion sense hasn't really changed much. T-shirts, jeans, hoodies, PJ bottoms...

34. What kept you sane?
Journaling. YouTube. Winnermart. Heero.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I've had a thing for the same "celebrity" crush since 2003, and it will never not be Midorikawa Hikaru.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Oh there were a few but let's not talk politics here.

37. Who did you miss?
No one.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I...didn't meet many new people. If any.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014:
Find someone who respects you and loves you, not someone who just wants you to be their broken winged bird.

>Part Three

1) Where did you begin 2014?
I can't remember. I think I was home, probably watching TV or something. I don't do much on New Year's.

2) What was your relationship status by Valentine's Day?
I was still in a relationship with my now ex-girlfriend.

3) Were you in school anytime this year?
Nope.

4) How did you earn your money?
For the majority of the year I was still working my retail job. I ended up getting a second job for a hunting newsletter publication, which I love infinitely more. Unfortunately, I still have to keep the retail one -_-

5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Nope.

6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
Only good ones, thanks to working Black Friday and thus coppers everywhere in our store.

7) Would you relive 2014 over and over again?
Absolutely not. Considering I recently left an abusive romantic relationship, I would rather not repeat that experience, thanks.

8) What did you purchase that was over $1000?
Nothing. I don't spend that much money, holy crap.

9) Did you know anybody who got married?
Yes. One of my friends from high school.

10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
Not that I know of.

11) Did you know anyone who had a baby?
A few of my friends from high school.

12) Did you move anywhere?
Nope.

13) What concerts/shows did you go to?
I didn't.

14) Are you registered to vote?
Nope.

15) Do you still have the same job as you did in 2013?
I've had the same job since...2011 I think was when I started.

16) Has anyone betrayed you in 2014?
Aha. Yeah. And I'm better off without them (surprise, surprise).

17) Where do you live now?
Same place as last year, and the year before, and the year before that...

18) Describe your birthday?
I took the day off and that was about it. Birthdays aren't memorable for me anymore.

19) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2014?
I finished NaNo...for a second time in a row. Also, my second job is in publishing, which is pretty amazing to me.

20) What has been your favourite moment?
I don't know. I'd probably have to look back through my journals this year for it.

21) What's something you learned about yourself?
That I am more courageous and strong than I often give myself credit for or tend to realise.

22) Any new additions to your family?
We added a hamster. His name is Duo.

23) What was your best month?
I can't pinpoint one at the moment. Most of my months are "meh" at best. I can tell you what my worst months were, and they ranged from September until November.

24) Were you in a relationship this year?
Yes. I still am, but with someone else

25) What music will you remember 2014 by?
I listened to an absurd amount of nightcore music for some reason.

26) Who has been your best drinking buddy/buddies?
I don't go drinking, so I don't have any.

27) New friend?
I...don't think I made new friends this year. If anything I lost friends.

28) Favorite night out?
It seems this survey assumes I'm sociable. I don't go out much either.

29) Would you say you've changed since the beginning of this year?
Yes, emphatically.

30) Do you think 2015 will be better or worse?
I don't think about the future, I will drive myself into an anxious frenzy at the thought. All I can do is hope I survive it.
